What is Productivity?

Welcome to Lean Productivity Solutions Limited's first blog posting. Today's topic is Productivity and what does it mean for you as a business. The majority of people (managers, supervisors, etc), believe that improving productivity means adding additional physical resources to the process. This means the majority of the time involves people getting in each other’s way and depending on the size of the working area it creates an unsafe working environment for employees and also having a negative impact on the main objective by slowing down the process. This means that the additional physical resource has had very little impact or no impact at all on output and has increased the labour costs for the company. At the end of the day productivity simply means producing more from the same or less resources. By "resources", I mean all human and physical resources, i.e. the people who can produce the goods or provide the services.

If you are currently having productivity issues within your business please make contact with Lean Productivity Solutions Limited to see how we can help your business.

Next week’s mini blog will be covering 5S methodology and discussing briefly what effects 5S can have when implementing it into your business?
